Accepting where you are…..

Accepting where you are…..

To accept where we are right now in our current condition and status can be humbling and uncomfortable especially if we are not operating at our highest potential.   From this base, we gain humility and compassion for others that have similar experiences.

We tend to escape into the history of the stories that define who we perceive ourselves to be or get caught up in our grandiose plans for the future. We lose the power of the present moment.  Sometimes the present moment is not so pretty, and it’s okay.  It is how we handle this space that defines our character.

The transition from one state of being to the unknown can be unsettling.   Going to the “zero place” can be a raw feeling.  We cannot always be an outward expression of ourselves.  To live in balance we also need time to be introspective, to recover, reflect, receive and integrate.

One step forward two steps back….

Forward momentum impaired can be frustrating and disappointing, yet when we recognize this as part of the process we do not have to identify with the obstacles that present themselves.  Remember that everything happens for a reason and it’s all a part of the divine plan unfolding.

Let us breathe deep, remember what we are grateful for, and let go of all that is known so we can open to the next step on the journey.  In our goal oriented society, it is good to remember that it is not how fast we make it to the end or realize our goals, our happiness and success is measured by each step along the way.  Be graceful through this time, lay low, re-supply the reserves, be gentle with yourself, and know that you are loved and supported.
